THE GAP
Dermocosmetics are everywhere. A clear post-procedure choice is not.
A dermocosmetic label does not automatically tell a clinician how a finished product will behave on freshly treated skin. Formulation, pH, osmolality, fragrance and preservative systems, acids and surfactants all differ from product to product.
The category exists. What is still missing is a widely adopted, practical finished-product framework designed to help clinicians and consumers evaluate skincare for immediate post-procedure use.
When product suitability is uncertain, clinicians may take the more conservative route — limiting what is applied immediately after a procedure.
When the safest choice is “less,” the category has a design problem.

What should touch the skin immediately after a procedure?
THE CLINICAL QUESTION
Post-procedure skin is different.
FIG. 01 — THE DESIGN OBJECT: THE EXTERNAL AQUEOUS ENVIRONMENT THE SKIN MEETS
Immediately after an aesthetic procedure, the skin may temporarily experience altered barrier function and increased sensitivity.
In this condition, skincare should not be considered only in terms of active ingredients. The physicochemical environment directly contacting the skin — osmolality, pH, ionic composition and known sources of irritation — also deserves consideration.
PAGE LAB BIOMEDICS therefore approaches the aqueous environment that post-procedure skin encounters as an engineering variable in its own right.
This question became the starting point for HSEF Buffer™.

OUR DEVELOPMENT MODEL
From clinic to standard.
Our development process begins where the technology will ultimately be used: in clinical practice.
Clinical observations are translated into measurable design criteria, evaluated at the finished-product level and refined through real-world validation.
CLINICAL OBSERVATION
Identify unmet needs and recurring problems in real-world aesthetic practice.
SPECIFICATION DESIGN
Translate clinical observations into measurable physicochemical and formulation criteria.
FORMULATION & SCREENING
Develop and evaluate formulations at the finished-product level against predefined specifications and exclusion criteria.
CLINICAL VALIDATION
Evaluate fitness for use under real clinical conditions and refine the standard through accumulated data.
A closed loop between clinical practice, research and product development.
